Manage leads and clients
Create, import, organize, edit, tag, and convert contacts in the CRM.
- Audience
- Agents managing pipeline and client records
- Region
- US and Canada
Overview
Leads is the pipeline board for prospects and active opportunities. Clients is the record set for converted contacts and policy/customer management.
Leads can be created manually, imported from CSV, searched, tagged, moved between stages, and promoted to clients.
Pipeline stages and tags are configurable from Settings, with system stages protected where required by the platform.
Requirements
- At least one lead or client record, or demo data enabled.
Walkthrough
1. Create a lead
Open Leads and choose New lead. Enter contact details, location, lead source, product type, and notes.
2. Import a CSV
Use the CSV import action on Leads, map the detected columns, preview the import, then submit the records.
3. Organize the board
Drag or update leads across pipeline stages. Use search, status filters, and tags to narrow the board.
4. Open a detail record
Open a lead or client record to edit contact fields, review documents, see related meetings, and continue follow-up.
5. Promote a lead
When a prospect becomes a client, use the promote flow so the lead moves into the client area without losing context.
Where to go
| Area | US path | Canada path |
|---|---|---|
| Leads | /us/leads | /ca/leads |
| Clients | /us/clients | /ca/clients |
| Pipeline settings | /us/settings/pipeline | /ca/settings/pipeline |
| Tag settings | /us/settings/tags | /ca/settings/tags |
Tips
- Use tags for segmentation that cuts across pipeline stages.
- Use pipeline stages for operational status, not long notes.
- Document matching uses lead/client records, so keeping names and contact details accurate improves matching.
Troubleshooting
Imported leads are not grouped as expected
Check the CSV column mapping and normalize lead status values before import.
A stage cannot be deleted
System stages are protected. Rename or recolor them if allowed, and add custom stages around them.
